Tips
The iron skillet is Key! It adds to the browning, texture and flavor of the Beyond Burger and makes a huge difference. It will give you an authentic meatball experience.

Ingredients
1/2 cup Almond Breeze
Original, Unsweetened
Almond Milk
1/2 cup Ian’s Gluten-Free
Panko Breadcrumbs
1/2 cup chopped fresh basil
1 1/2 teaspoons extra-virgin
olive oil or Earth Balance
Buttery Spread
1/2 cup finely chopped white or yellow onion
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Bragg Nutritional Yeast Seasoning
1 prepared Follow Your Heart
Egg, use 1/2 cup
almond milk instead of water
One lb Beyond Burger,
4 burgers
One 24 oz. jar Amy’s Premium
Organic Pasta Sauce
Family Marinara, Light in Sodium
1/2 cup Follow Your Heart
Parmesan Cheese mixed
with 1/2 teaspoon
Bragg Organic Sprinkle
24 Herbs & Spices Seasoning
1/2 teaspoon kosher or sea salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper

Preheat oven to 375°
Combine the milk and breadcrumbs in a bowl. Let breadcrumbs absorb milk. Add 1/2 cup chopped fresh basil.

Meanwhile melt 1/2 teaspoon butter or olive oil in iron skillet over medium heat add onion, sauté until onion becomes translucent about 3 minutes.

Add sautéed onion, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, garlic powder and nutritional yeast to breadcrumb mixture. Add prepared Follow Your Heart Egg to breadcrumb mixture, blend well. Taste and see if more salt is desired.

Roll up your sleeves, combine burgers with the breadcrumb mixture.

Divide into 9 equal size balls. They will be a little larger than a golf ball.

Melt 1/2 teaspoon butter or olive oil in iron skillet over medium heat. Cook the meatballs in 2 batches, they will be easier to remove from the skillet. Brown on all sides approximately 10 minutes.

Remove the meatballs from the skillet and place in a baking dish lined with parchment paper.
Melt remaining 1/2 teaspoon butter or olive oil in the skillet and brown 2nd batch of meatballs then add to the meatballs in the baking dish.
Bake for 10 min. -
While meatballs are baking add pasta sauce to a medium size pan and bring to a low simmer.
Remove meatballs from the baking dish and carefully add them to the sauce. Simmer on low for 25 minutes stirring carefully several times to make sure meatballs don’t stick to the bottom of the pan.
Sprinkle with parmesan before serving.
